Pizza Cooking Test: Alfa Futuro 2 vs Bakebros 14
To evaluate both ovens under real-world conditions, I prepared a classic Margherita pizza using identical dough, sauce, and fresh mozzarella. The goal was to assess heat-up time, cooking duration, and overall taste and texture of the final result.
The Alfa Futuro 2 took approximately 30 minutes to preheat and stabilize at around 950–1000°F. Once at full temperature, I was able to cook two Margherita pizzas simultaneously in just 90 seconds. The crust came out beautifully leopard-spotted, airy, and slightly crisp on the outside while soft inside. The cheese melted evenly without burning, and the flavor had that authentic wood-fired depth, even though I used the gas setup for this test.
In contrast, the Bakebros 14 preheated faster—about 20–25 minutes to reach 900°F. The oven cooked a single Margherita pizza in 60 seconds, which is impressive. However, because of the smaller cooking area and thinner steel, I noticed some uneven browning on the crust and had to rotate the pizza carefully. The taste was still great—crispy, slightly smoky, and well-balanced—but it didn’t quite achieve the same Neapolitan-style texture as the Alfa.
Overall, both ovens delivered delicious results, but Alfa Futuro 2 stood out with better heat retention, more even cooking, and a professional-quality crust.
How We Tested
